Get a carbide tipped drill and drill into the steel drill bit a little then use an easy-out to extract the broken bit.
Or if you can manage it, use that carbide bit and just finish drilling the hole, or at least past the broken steel bit.

When you are drilling cast iron the drill bit has to be sharpened different than when drilling steel. You have to grind the leading edge [sharp rake ] parallel to the center line of the drill this prevents the drill from biting in. What you end up doing is scraping away the cast iron rather the the drill trying to screw itself in to the cast iron thus snapping the bit.

Just being simple ingengj?rare, I would just weld a AN nipple to pan. If you can't weld, ask welder to do that. It is 15 min job of you bring clean parts.

Nope, I sell all my crap on FB marketplace. Last 2 grandpa series I sold went quick, like 3-5 days I think. And then the $100 945T I sold, got messages saying " does it run?"

I modded my block with a quarter, 2 broken bits, and some JB weld. Car is on jackstands so it's appropriate.
