240 Do These Strut Bearings Look Ok?

1991 Volvo 240

The strut bearings do not have cracking that I can see, but the rubber is deformed as shown in the photo below. Does that look ok, or is it best to replace them?

Mine look more or less the same, maybe the cap is less pushed upwards.

I measured and the rubber is being pushed up almost 0.5". That seems like a lot to me, but I don't want to replace them if this is acceptable.

No cracking is more important. It is normal to have these move up some. If they are original then they are over 20 years old. If they are aftermarket and haven't cracked you are ok. But keep an eye on them because the cracking happens a lot sooner than it used to.

One of our members sells a plate to help that. You can look in the group buy or for sale area for the thread. I think the user is 15A if I recall correctly.

They need replacing and use the plate or Ben’s mounts!
