volvo 165

Not hard if you own a body shop with a frame rack and welder to front halve it.

You might have to forgo several thousand dollars of otherwise profitable work in the meantime though.

I got a frame rack. And its just getting used to store a car on it. So I might. And I did welding comps in high school and college

Help me here . . . 'bad rust' but the front end is clean. These things rust all over. Restored one.

Won't those fenders/front clip fit on an easier-to-find 240? Those cars look nice other than the afterthought front turn signals.

The wheelbase is longer on the 164. I think the 164 would need to be cut apart at the firewall spot welds and then the front structure welded to the desired rear 3/4 of a car, such as a 245.

Nope the front wheels are quite a bit further forward on a 164.

We just went through this with Jack's wet dream.

It's been done various ways.

I've had this dream myself. The results are beautiful but to do it right is a lot of work. There's a detailed write up on it somewhere on the web. The guy cut the two cars behind the cowl, in the floorpan and as I recall, in the A pillars.
If you get started now, perhaps you'll get all the tough welding done and be ready to give up about the time my daughter finishes collage. Then I could buy it from you and finish it.
Big job but worth the effort if you can swing it.

They're out there.
