The lift gate strut ball mount bolt stripped out the threaded hole in the chassis.
Any items on how to repair the hole?
The OD of is larger than a timesert, so I can?t use that.

In order of decreasing simplicity and increasing cost and reliability of repair:

1: JB weld?
2: Drill new hole and tap beside it? Its just a strut, location is not super critical.
3: Drill and tap much bigger, thread in a butter soft, mild steel bolt, with permanent loctite. Do not use a hardened bolt. Next, drill into center of bolt, tap for original thread size.
Kinda like making your own heli coil in-place
5: Weld it up and tap it new like. Add bondo, paint and stuff.
4: Get a new body shell and transfer all parts over to it. Scrap this shell

A little excessive...but effective! #3 is also a great idea.

I can?t believe I didn?t think of that,thanks!

Get broomstick prop rod for tailgate.

Currently in use, but I use a nice piece of of stained redwood 2x2.

Did you verify a Big Sert won't fit?

I use timeserts all the time and didn?t know they made these. Thanks!
