actually i'm working on that now. talking with aed performance in richmond va. their dude who tunes megasquirt and the like is out cause of some back injury (its been a month now)... i could run it as is (just to get dyno results) but would rather have it professionally tuned and then ran.

You scrapped that good looking 745 for a bad transmission?

The last 745 I bought with a "bad transmission" had a bad tailshaft seal and output coupling/bearing. Junkyard tailshaft, new seal and some fluid and she was golden.

That is smart. A guy a couple years ago spent ten hours on the dyno getting it tuned. He went from ~180whp to ~300whp by the end of it. Let me find a link to the post.

yeah i hear it all the time. i've got a 94 855 turbo sportswagon and wasn't feeling another wagon. i've always been partial to 240s. i wanted something like a rally car. i couldn't imagine taking the 745 to half the places i've driven my 244.

i've never attended there. found it when i was having fun on the back roads in the mountains. just thought it was kind of funny. so took a picture and a piss. and that link is sick.

Sweet man! Looks like you have a few really fun spots to mess around in. I have recently found a few places around here, but with the speed that residential and commercial zones develop around here its really difficult to find a place that you could be in and out without a word from someone.

No vids though? I want to see some vids of that beast tearing up some dirt.

you have no idea how long it took me to find the places i did. i also live in an area that is developing fast and one with cops sitting everywhere. i'll seriously wake up, pick up my buddy and will drive for hours until we find roads that don't show up on gps. places with no phone or power lines around. but we have to hunt for them. i could never find the places i've been to again. but yeah its so much fun going all fast down dirt roads/fields and checking out the run down areas and/or unmolested land. so its totally worth the gas money to see the places and do whatever you want and not get a ticket. and thanks guys for the complements on my car. its got a long way to go though... but is anybody ever done?

oh and i just got an email from aed performance telling me they can't/won't tune my car. i'm pissed...

talking with Performance Autosport Inc. now. they want $150 an hour and have never played with megasquirt before...

Looks good man. Did you have to do any cutting of the metal in the rear deck to fit those 6x9s? If you could take some pics of underneath and such of the install that would be great!!

yeah i traced out where i wanted them and used my buddy's air tools. he works at thompson audio in colonial heights. its like a jig saw that fits in your hand and you hold it like a pencil. well with two hands like a pencil. took about five minutes to cut holes out with it. its about the only thing that'll work cause of the back glass getting in the way. i'll get under there and take a picture later. but i can't even hear the door speakers with those 6x9's...

Oh sweet man I gotta get me one of those. A damn tree saw sucks for doing this job. lol. And I immediately regret getting MB Quarts just because I like the grilles that you on those JL's. I guess I will return them haha.

so i only wanted like 300hp with this car. because of that i didn't think that i was going to need megasquirt in the long run (and i hate wires). so i got chips... they are not working with my setup at all. i don't know how people with holsets and 3" amm do it. you can see my mods listed out above (and they are not anything too crazy to brag about). but i just got everything put on the car. its running way too rich. i got smoke coming out my exhaust like crazy and it smells like an old lawn mower... i didn't want to keep running the setup becuase i feared burning the oil off my cylinders. and i'm using 93 octane and its expensive. so now i have to get megasquirt just to get 300hp. but if anyone has any pointers with my setup, please help. thanks, george
