its kinda rymes when you say it, I like that.

anywho, WHAT in the hell is the deal with wagon tail lights? I just picked up my wagon today and what a PITA. is there a schematic or some kind of picture anyone has to where these wires go on the light?
all I have right now is running lights. I had a brake light and now its gone. It use to brake light and turn out the other sides running light, now thats gone too.

also what are the wires in the hinge's/what do they do ??? The rear wiper still works but there is way to many wires for two license plate lights or is there?

anyways any help would be greatly appreciated.
Daniel.

The tail light wires, rear defrost and rear wiper all run through the hinge. There are also grounds that can get pinched and messed up in there. I have to do this on my wagon when I get it properly running so I don't have any hands on experience quite yet.

Put the gun down.

It's going to be OK.

Really it is. :)

my brake lights have gone out from time to time, and usually if you take the panels off the back sides and move the light fixture that will solve the problem. my tail lights are also acting up again and after i tried my tried and true method nothing happens. also i have a intermittent buzzing from under the dash. i love these little headaches.

Give them the pencil eraser treatment, especially if they are after market.

Bend the tabs down a tiny bit as well..

I bet there are allot of knowing smiles out there ... Wagon tail lights are the red headed step child. Sadly with our local revenue generators phishing with light failures as lures ...
Your bulbs going out in sequence; I have learned that when you change one side, change the other side as well.
Start with tracing the grounds to the body, and giving them a scuff and electric greasing. Then do everything mentioned above while both assemblies are dangling off the back. This allows you to twist, tap, jiggle to ID those parts/bulbs that need more attention.
Funny you don't mention the 'bulb failure idiot light', because even after you do all this, and confirm that all of your lights work, the idiot light might still be on.
Become one with your taillights.

all good points, my 86 was doing the same thing then i found the ground wire was connected to a big chunk of rust, nothing else.
cleaned and connected wire to body with a self tapper and bingo now all the lights work. (my defect bulb light comes on with brake lights but they do work). hope this helps
