From that.

To that.

I'll let you guys imagine how many hours that represents.

Wet sanding the dirt and oxidized paint with 600.

<a href="http://s255.photobucket.com/albums/hh136/redwoodchair/82%20245%20GLT/?action=view&current=82245GLTPaint65.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh136/redwoodchair/82%20245%20GLT/82245GLTPaint65.jpg" border="0" alt="82 245 GLT Paint 65"></a>

Closer.

<a href="http://s255.photobucket.com/albums/hh136/redwoodchair/82%20245%20GLT/?action=view&current=82245GLTPaint66.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh136/redwoodchair/82%20245%20GLT/82245GLTPaint66.jpg" border="0" alt="82 245 GLT Paint 66"></a>

So my paint guy brings by this really nice flowing seam sealer.

<a href="http://s255.photobucket.com/albums/hh136/redwoodchair/82%20245%20GLT/?action=view&current=82245GLTPaint67.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh136/redwoodchair/82%20245%20GLT/82245GLTPaint67.jpg" border="0" alt="82 245 GLT Paint 67"></a>

Doors off.
Again....

<a href="http://s255.photobucket.com/albums/hh136/redwoodchair/82%20245%20GLT/?action=view&current=82245GLTPaint68.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh136/redwoodchair/82%20245%20GLT/82245GLTPaint68.jpg" border="0" alt="82 245 GLT Paint 68"></a>

The clouds rolled in,the Dog's not too happy with that.

It seems Volvo seam sealed the doors with them on the car,as there is none on the hinge side of the doors.

You have to work quickly, shoot it in,wipe it down, and pull the tape.
Then it flows out nicely.

<a href="http://s255.photobucket.com/albums/hh136/redwoodchair/82%20245%20GLT/?action=view&current=82245GLTPaint69.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh136/redwoodchair/82%20245%20GLT/82245GLTPaint69.jpg" border="0" alt="82 245 GLT Paint 69"></a>

Doors go back on,and the front end goes up in the air.

<a href="http://s255.photobucket.com/albums/hh136/redwoodchair/82%20245%20GLT/?action=view&current=82245GLTPaint70.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh136/redwoodchair/82%20245%20GLT/82245GLTPaint70.jpg" border="0" alt="82 245 GLT Paint 70"></a>

Poking at it with a stick again to pop the dings out.
They would send me home before the 10:00 break in a body shop, but I'm having fun doing my thing.

<a href="http://s255.photobucket.com/albums/hh136/redwoodchair/82%20245%20GLT/?action=view&current=82245GLTPaint71.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh136/redwoodchair/82%20245%20GLT/82245GLTPaint71.jpg" border="0" alt="82 245 GLT Paint 71"></a>

Surfbrick brings by some trick bondo that sticks to roughed up [ # 80 grit ] paint, instead of bare metal.

<a href="http://s255.photobucket.com/albums/hh136/redwoodchair/82%20245%20GLT/?action=view&current=82245GLTPaint72.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh136/redwoodchair/82%20245%20GLT/82245GLTPaint72.jpg" border="0" alt="82 245 GLT Paint 72"></a>

Slap a little bondo....

<a href="http://s255.photobucket.com/albums/hh136/redwoodchair/82%20245%20GLT/?action=view&current=82245GLTPaint73.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh136/redwoodchair/82%20245%20GLT/82245GLTPaint73.jpg" border="0" alt="82 245 GLT Paint 73"></a>

A bit on the C pillar to float the 1/4 weld repair.
They had it on an eighth of an inch thick here,I don't know why.

<a href="http://s255.photobucket.com/albums/hh136/redwoodchair/82%20245%20GLT/?action=view&current=82245GLTPaint74.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh136/redwoodchair/82%20245%20GLT/82245GLTPaint74.jpg" border="0" alt="82 245 GLT Paint 74"></a>

Dragonskin and 1/4 to 0 feather stick shaping.

<a href="http://s255.photobucket.com/albums/hh136/redwoodchair/82%20245%20GLT/?action=view&current=82245GLTPaint75.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh136/redwoodchair/82%20245%20GLT/82245GLTPaint75.jpg" border="0" alt="82 245 GLT Paint 75"></a>

Smoothed down with 180.

<a href="http://s255.photobucket.com/albums/hh136/redwoodchair/82%20245%20GLT/?action=view&current=82245GLTPaint76.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh136/redwoodchair/82%20245%20GLT/82245GLTPaint76.jpg" border="0" alt="82 245 GLT Paint 76"></a>

Popping the metal back up kept the filler thickness down to about a half millimeter.
One has to be very careful not to create/leave a high spot especially on a big panel or it will never look right.

I'm kinda jealous of your pastel catalyzed acrylic enamel to tell you the truth.
No peeling clear coat and easy touch up FTW.
They tell me it's too hard to shoot it.
Kids these days...:grrr:
