Default "Classic" Wood Trim re-pops.

Well I've been trying my hand at remaking some of the pieces of the wood trim found in Classic edition 240s. Getting pretty close to a full set so thought I'd show it off. The wood is Sapele, a type of mahogany.

Some slight adjustments to be made but it works. Now to try the right side.

Here are my center two trims along with a block off plate I was playing with.

Once I like each trim piece, I'm going to be selling sets to the masses. The chrome strip is possible to have on your set but would be pricier. Lots of different woods available.

If there's enough interest I'll save names here and get in touch when I'm ready to make your set. Then you can choose the wood you'd like and the finish and we'll discuss pricing and delivery times.

Nice. Might be a cool upgrade for the '92...

Sets will range from $150-250. Type of wood/finish/chrome detail will be the deciding factors. Plenty of choices of wood in all price ranges.

Did the classic trim have chrome trim on the top??? If so why not just make them so people can add their own trim from the black plastic they already have. Keeps the price down.

It's the milling of the wood to facilitate the chrome strip that makes it more expensive, putting in the chrome strip after takes but a min or two.

I have not seen that. So with the corner piece it's a compound miter angle. So my first try was just mitered. I'm going to try two different ways for the corners this weekend.

Nice job. It looks much better without the aluminum trim, IMO.

Yes it does. and thank you Roy and everyone else!

Also, where did that picture come from? Looks like someone was remaking them as well. Looks like they used that round over bit. I'm hand planing mine into shape, no router yet.

I just got a new saw. Hoping to get the corner pieces figured out. I wasn't happy with how they wrapped the corner before.

Looks like you have an original one there. Is the inside corner a 90 degree angle? Doesn't look like it. This may be the problem.
