780 Rear on a 740 picts

So i took the whole rear bumper/valence and modiifed it to fit my 740. Having the skirts with the splitter left the rear feeling kinda naked. The Aero rear piece i had didnt look like it was going to 1. clear my Ipd exhaust without cutting a hole in the valance 2. Finish off a clean looking kit. I didnt want to make it look like an aftermarket rice kit even though i was putting three kits together.
I used the exsisting 740 bumper shocks and the complete rear 780 bumper. Its a little long and a little wide. So what i had to do was get creative with a dremel, some paint, new brackets and about 6 hours.

My luck was good to find the skirts and the 780 pieces in factory volvo white already. The splitters are jao designs. I had them painted to match when i did my aluminum hood and cowl cover. My next batch going off to paint are my 960 door handles hatch handle and rear spoiler.

i am not a huge fan of it .. does not line up all that great either

but hey if you like it then more power to ya

I was asked to post picts of it from the gemini thread. Im not bragging or looking for fans. Its a work beater. I haul pool fence in it.

considering we dont have kits falling from the sky and this is what it looked like before im gonna live with it not being perfect. Thanks for the kudos those who like it. for those who post that they dont thats cool too. But when you do i usually click on your car and pick it apart too. LOL

Ya my buddy has that problem of no lower middle section. I told him if he at least painted his rockers red to match it would make it look better.

Wow I really like how that turned out! A stuble factory look, but adds alot.

Looks like the ride height on the wagon is perfect.

Ya, it rides pretty good for OG volvo stuff. Its just on bilsteins and IPD sways. Nothing fancy.
Ive got the same 240 kit at you do. Ive put about 20 hours of fill and sand time into it. Not sure if im going to use my rear piece from that one either. Im using Jaos 2 inch lower front spoiler with the skirts for sure though. I have another rear 240 kit other than the brickstyles one im considering.

That's your beater?

I like it.. it certainly needed that rear treatment.

Your buddy needs some spacers too, for serious.

I think it looks good, did you try using the newer bumper shocks?

I had to use them with my SE bumper with newer shocks and it lines up perfect...

I think it looks damn goo instead of no rear skirt, and it looks/is OEM too!

Black powder coat. Thanks guys for the words.
I dont post about it much because i havent got the kind of funds most of you do for serious mods. Im only running a 15g, late mani, injectors, exhaust, and cam. 12lbs of boost eats up most i run against....with tools and a core drill in the back.
Yes, its my beater. I guess i should have my other car in the project section?
