93 Volvo 940 na Bosch ignition. this past summer I was having a cold start issue where it was extremely hard to start. I ended up replacing the coolant temperature sensor and everything was working properly again. That was up until yesterday. My alternator belt snapped sometime on my way to work. I didn't notice it until I started my car up after work and the dash lights were on. I ended up driving the car home on battery power and it ran fine with no issues. I bought a new alternator belt and put it on and the car continued to run fine. Later that day after filling up the gas I noticed the car was running rough and had black smoke coming out of the exhaust. I assumed it was bad gas and added some fresh stuff from a different gas station which didn't fix the issue. I also pulled a sample off of the return line and found a very very minut amount of water in it. Currently the car is running rough and is hard to start and once flooded will not start at all. I pulled plugs multiple times to find excessive gas on them. The spark appears to be strong on all four plugs. I replaced the plugs just in case they were overly saturated but unfortunately it did not solve the problem. I have a hard time believing my alternator belt had anything to do with the fuel issue but the timing was very odd. Any chance that the coolant temperature sensor went bad again within a few months? It's OEM Bosch. What else could cause a rich issue?
