Default Volvo 240 odometer issues

hello everyone
i was having issues with my speedometer that i replaced. now i have a working speedometer but the odometer is not working. so far i checked the gear that breaks and its fine and soldered all the joints for the motor. maybe I'm missing something that i don't know but i don't know. I've been trying to fix it for the last month now and its driving me crazy. i would like to see my odometer working.

Often the plastic gears strip out. Almost no one has a working odometer in the oldest cars.
Here is one good source on repairs:

I just replaced the little tiny baby gear on my odometer after who knows how many years of non working. First 240 I've had that has a functional one. Got the gear at IPD.

Here's my journey. It's basically what you say that you've been through but in greater detail. Have you confirmed that the motor pins are still connected to the motor itself? Is there a piece of an old gear lodged in the mechanism?
