I'm liking where this is headed. ITBs are a win in my book every time.

Very nice, is the motor running now? Any reports on performance.

I like your idea of using a cutdown FT piston there still should be enough piston to the top ring to prevent burn through. I question the 11.1 compression ratio when stock AQ151 is 9.7:1. Have you shaved the head aswell?

No, its not running at this point or had made any progress worth a update. The pistons are .012 above deck and using a stock head gasket to get the compression ratio needed.

I did buy two cnc machines a couple weeks ago, been focusing to get them running and my shop insulated.

After a few years from my last post a lot have changed personally. My last job I had back in 2015 closed down and was something that was bound to happen that last 6 month I worked there. While still
employed I made the jump and purchased my own CNC machines. The last two years I've worked on other projects car and non car related. The GT has been sitting the same spot for a number of years. I decided to pull the car in a do some actual progress. I ripped the entire interior out and the carpet. I know the sunroof leaks, I wasn't sure if it caused damaged from water sitting inside the car from the years sitting. Some surface rust under the carpet and some holes in the floor on the passenger side at the drain plug. I already ordered a passenger floor pan. I already DA the car but going to stripped the car completely. I'm going to take all the panels that can be removed to be soda or walnut basted.

I Purchased a new 242 GT. it's a 1980, I really don't care that it as butt cheeks for the spare tire. I don't have pictures at the moment. overall the outside it more presentable than my 79. The 80 GT has been repainted 10 years ago? I've decided if I'm going to get this project going is to start with one thing at a time and still having the 80 242 drivable. I've started with the getrag conversion.
I design brackets for the shifter and had them laser cut and cut a modified the m46 shifter to length. Im very close to have everything to complete the swap and then going in the 242 with the original b21f in the new 80 GT. All there is left to do is driveline and trans mount.

here is the new GT that will replace my old 79 242. I've know about this car for about 10 years. Finally the owner decided to sell it, I had another chance to buy a couple of years ago but she decided to keep it. I bought a set of c30 seats, I only installed the drivers side as of now. I machined my own coilover tubes direct fit for saab shock inserts. Been planning on the next step for the itb air filters. Jenvey does not have a backing plate with the volvo spacing so I'll be buying a blank template and machine out the holes with the correct spacing. Will be using jenvey throttle linkage as well.

Those are really nice pieces! I wish I could ditch my T5 for a Getrag swap someday.

I know how things can be. I'm slow with projects. You're doing some wonderful work.

if the trunk stripe goes straight across, instead of following the indentation in the lid, I know who owned that car many years ago. Was one of the former PSVCOA chapter presidents.
