Bob George's '82 242 Turbo PROJECT

Captain Bondo built the header.

The car is hilarious at 15 psi. Video this week I hope. It's been awhile since I've laughed that hard driving a car, and a long time since driving one of my own cars. The stock clutch goes up in smoke in 3rd and 4th gear if you floor it. Good motivation to put the T5 in this winter.
 
car looks amazing, nice to see it almost done. the rear looks a little high though...other than that, AMAZING job on that 240, and awesome license plate.
 
still running stock clutch in the m46? pretty amazing it didn't slip at 3 psi lol. Mine would slip at 14 psi on stock t3.

Car is in for the season because 1) it's November 1st and snow is right around the corner, 2) the clutch is slipping pretty badly and I won't get to that this year and 3) the car won't currently start :lol:

I think it's ignition related. I was in boost in 3rd gear on the way home and it just cut out and stalled. My EDIS trigger wheel is scored, so it was obviously making contact with the sensor.

Your blow off valve isn't working.

That's definitely how external gates sound alright, well the whoooossssshhhh part in boost. The whududududududd is compressor surge.

Looks and sounds fantastic though!
 
Yeah I need to investigate the BOV, maybe it just needs a different spring. These videos are at 13 psi, btw.
 
We should do a app gap run before the snow falls. see if you can keep up with a ugly car! ha ha ha. p.s. stop by and get that hood before it gets eft up. if you want me to drop it off let me know.
 
Even with a stiffer spring it should open up at full vacuum, especially with some good boost in the pipes. But yeah, maybe the spring is too hard for your setup, cause it doesn't sound like it opens at all, they're nice and loud. Actually it'll sounds sorta like your dump tube, but better, can't miss it.
 
No updates on the Volvo in a few months, but I did tint the windows on the Honda today :-P

Looking forward to getting back into the garage when it warms up a bit. Lots planned for 2010.
