Not Texas; it's being built for me by Legacy Custom Trucks (http://www.legacyclassictrucks.com).

Started as a beautiful condition 245DL with 100k miles. The engine was replaced with an aluminum block GM LC9 (5.3L V8, about 350hp). Transmission is a GM 6L80 (6-speed auto). The cooling, fuel, and exhaust systems were replaced at the same time. New Tom Woods driveshaft. Bilstein shocks, on a new suspension lifted 2 inches and with a Panhard bar added. Brembo brakes. Eaton Truetrac limited-slip differential in the read axle. Aluminum skid plate under the engine. BFG AT tires on 15" wheels. It will be getting a pair of Hella rally lights on the front that are not mounted yet. Inside, it will remain stock except for a new audio system with hands-free phone capability and new shift lever.

And a cup holder.

Strange to see one that's not all ratty and beat up. Most people start with junkers....lol. Looks like it was a really nice 245 to start with.

Is your rear sway bar on upside down?

We have a facebook group if you do the FB thing. "Lifted Volvos"

Yeah, it was a gorgeous example to begin with. Both interior and exterior were immaculate. I learned years ago with a Jeep (CJ-2A) that I don't enjoy projects. That's why I hired Legacy to build this for me - they do the work, and I get to just enjoy the results.

The rear sway bar in that earlier photo wasn't fully mounted - just rolled out for a couple pictures. Here's a more recent shot:

You should always start with the best car you can find/afford. The end result will always be better.

Looks like they do pretty nice work.

What did they do to lift it? The usual cut and extend the strut housings?
Make sure the rear brake line "slack" was addressed. Both of my lifted 240's have ended up breaking brake lines right at the axle mount point.

215/75's?

Looks great, please continue to post new pics and adventures you take it on.

Very nice. Clean car. Super clean engine bay, shine that aluminum up in the engine bay to match that fresh paint.

Yep, 215/75 BF Goodrich All-Terrains. The lift is fairly involved - new customer mounting brackets, over travel stops, panhard bar, new driveshaft, new torque arms and sway bars, Jeep TJ springs in the rear, etc. This shop does mostly 4x4s, so they have a lot of experience with lifted suspension geometry.
