Trying to replace the orifice tube on my 1993 240, how do i get this thing in? Its pretty flimsy plastic and i cant seem to get it seated all the way in without bending or breaking it.

I don't recall anything holding the orifice valve from installation. Maybe you have some debris in the line? Try cleaning out the a/c line? Maybe someone left an extra one in there?

Lubed the o-ring and pipe with compressor oil?
Putting it in the right way around (short end first)?
Putting it in the right pipe (frame rail style: pipe to firewall)?
Goes into pipe 35 short end first, then pipe 32 traps it.
(Orifice is 56, label blocked by "58").

I have seen these stuck quite tight; needle nose and pull hard.

If it breaks, remove pipe then drill out and flush with air and then AC flush.

Ok i finally got it, after i broke 2 of them. Ended up using 220 grit sandpaper rolled up to clean out the line, flushed and blew out with air, then lubed both the orifice tube and the a/c line with pag oil and got it to pop in all the way, what a pain in the ass haha.

Dang... I'm getting ready to do this (if I can find someone to evacuate the system and let me leave) and this isn't inspiring lol

It was a pain,

I had to ask my neighbor for assistance, he had special snap-on AC orifice installer / remover tools.
