![]() Got a mystery turbo that was bought in the early 90's for a volvo 240. Part number tag has fallen off...
It' a Garrett: Compressor AR .42. Has "BCC1" and "M24" on housing, "TM 22812-1" written on backplate??? Inducer ~42.5mm Exducer ~59.9mm So right around a 50 trim (doing math on rounded numbers...) Turbine AR .48. Has "M4" on the housing and "JW8 M4" on wastegate flange / housing (possibly JW6, hard to read last number) Exducer ~50mm Inducer ~Can't get housing off cause a few bolts are in there tight, starting to round, will have to break our the torch tomorrow... [IMG] ![]() [IMG] ![]() [IMG] ![]() [IMG] ![]() My closest guess would be a GT2259, but the AR is wrong in the turbine housing (.56 vs my .48) Why do I need to know? Cause the stock turbo on my brother's 83 242 is leaking oil out both ends. We have a TD04H 13C that could go on, but the Garrett is physically bigger, which means much more power right? ![]() Just curious if anyone knows what it is, so we can decide which will be the better street turbo... Thanks for the help! |

![]() LOL, well yes, I know George will bolt up, he was on out 240 wagon for a long time.
So the mit 13C isn't a bolt on affair? And how does a 15g pull on an otherwise stock b21? My wife's forester has a TD04 13t I believe from the factory, that is a fun car... I've raced my brother and I leaped out in front in 1st gear, probably due to 4.11 gears! No real ground was made after we were really rolling though. Pretty impressed that his old brick was keeping up. Thanks again for the help. Garrett, I mean George will probably be going on the 242, just need to order a rebuild kit just to make sure this one doesn't smoke either. |

![]() It's a regular old T3. Makes the Scoob turbo look like a toy.
