Oh lordy lord I'm a dumbass
Last week I finished putting the nicely rebuilt B23 into my 240. I figured I would put a little oil in the cylinders before the first start. I wasn't paying attention and poured (yeah, poured) in way too much. Fluids cannot be compressed, new head gasket toasted. The pressure also forced the ceramic core of the spark plugs out enough to double the gap, causing the other end to break off in the wire boot.
I ended up starting some obnoxious threads, I thought it was a wiring issue, though my ignition timing was off, etc etc.
So do you think I could have wrecked the bottom end or what?
During the process of trying to start it, I jumpered the fuel pump relay on, as well as the injectors to ground for an extra squirt of fuel. Well, I must have given it too much since the oil pouring out my fresh rear main seal reeks of gas. Not my main concern though.
