I wanted to see how the previous owner welded the rear diff and upon opening it open it looks like complete garbage...not going for anything but stock at the moment. What makes the best sense as far as getting this back to the way it was? Replace the entire axle/rear from a donor or yank the axles and replace the gears in the diff?

Not looking for a G80 or any locking differential at the moment. I’m shooting for clean and operating in near stock order.

Is it safe to assume I can pull a rear axle from any manual 200?

I’ve had very good luck swapping the center sections between diffs, without needing to re-shim.
The important part is to keep the bearings matched to the carrier.

If diving into a differential is a little too much for you, swapping the complete assembly is pretty easy.

Not at all, just wasn't sure about parts being interchangeable.

The 240 pumpkin flange is compatible for all years.

Good to know! Thanks again Ken.
