Default Factory radio

Anyone know what factory radio came in my 84 240 GL? It has a CR-3183 now, but looking around, I think this was a later model unit. I don't listen to the radio much at all, but wouldn't mind adding the correct radio to the future purchase list.

They had a AM/FM....AM/FM with cassette....AM/LW/MW MPX (Europe)..etc

They also had and equalizer: 1129916 EQ-2110

I'm looking at a parts book (pg. 1161), but one radio was
1129911 AM/FM (Volvo site shows R 2130 Am Fm Radio, but unknown what year 2130 model came out)

Here's an ebay listing for 2120

Chances are, capacitors are bad in older radios, so radio would have to have new caps.

It may be better to just buy a new aftermarket radio. There are other radios listed on ebay...I just found one and cited it above...he's too high

Awesome, thanks for the info! A lot of the new radios look weird to me, but if I can find one that looks relatively normal, I might do that. Otherwise, I may just stick to no radio and the soothing sounds of the redblock tractor exhaust...

Previous Owner (aka flipper) attempted to install a later date Volvo radio in a 1990-240, and failed, so he installed a Kenwood KMM-BT225U, which requires reading its instructions.

It has blue-tooth, so it can be connected wirelessly to smart-phones for calls/music.

I rarely use it, but newer radios tend to have more power output, and modern features.

Money wise, its better to ditch Volvo's radios, and get newer radios, if you use it.
