Default 142 seat rebuild

Need to rebuild the driver's seat in my 142 and have a few questions.
Do I need to use the pre-73 foam sold by VP or can I used WagonMeister's 240 foams?

Think you probably need the pre-73 foam, but may be able to get the later style to work.

Figures. Turns out The Meister's foam is more $ than VP's correct foam.
I wonder if I can make it myself for less?
