It's nice in the rain.
I want to keep it as a complete working car not so much as a showpiece.
The rack will make sure of that.
I have the vintage cars for looks

I really should have cut some of that dragonskin gooed it and stuffed it on a screw for backing. The U-POL kept flopping in and required 2 applications. No big deal it was hardballing fast in the sun.
It does for sure. The great thing is you can also make it different consistencies by altering the amount of fibers you ad. More fibers or different fibers make it thicker and harder to fair, less fibers or a softer fiber increase the workability but it doesnt build as fast. Lots of possibilities once youve bought the resin an catalyst.

But you did change the tailgate and the hood, so obviously looks do matter to a certain degree.
but I hear you on not wanting to remove the functionality. I've only had a working rear wiper for about 1 year out of the many that I've been driving Volvos, so maybe that's why I wouldn't mind removing it. Tail gate harnesses FTMFL

I really hope to get it as roadworthy as possible.
Don't worry I have some aesthetic tricks up my sleeve.
Stay tuned.

Quite a dig to get at the connectors to remove the Drivers door without cutting any wires.

Exactly.

For example my week:

-Monday- pulled the rear windshield
-Tuesday- nothing
-Wednesday- took the side windows and rest of the glass off
-Thursday- removed rear "seat" area and visors

But yeah, have it functioning as long as you can, you'll need to move it from place to place in your area, plus it will encourage you to get it done if you take a drive every once in a while.

Today's riddle.
The drivers door power door lock master actuation switch.
It wraps around the lock cylinder and the shuttle switch inside it activates the locks on all the other doors.
The release lever is pointing up and a barbed tab fits through a square hole just below it.

I've located a nice '84 245 GL wagon in white if you need another to add to that collection.

Now you tell us.
You could have saved us 100 hours with the color change on the surfwagon.

The 1/8" thick bondo was scaring me and I wanted to be sure the rust wasn't starting in the welds on the 1/4 replacement,
so I dug it out and glassed it up.
I got it really close with the glass, not much bondo left after sanding to get it smoothed out.

Looks good!

It'd be cool if you bought those rear window panels that are in for sale right now and made it into a surf wagon, but I know, I know, function over form

That 240 on the left looks lowered in the front... Ken... I can't believe you!

And why almost always only one picture per post?

Speedposting.
Plus if I need to quote a post for reference I won't have a big mess to edit later.
