Car is 1990 744 Turbo with 260K on the engine.Runs good, but out of curiosity I have checked the compression today and found 115,120,100,120.Good or bad?
I guess its time for rebuild. While I am at it (maybe next month),should I get the head shaved for raising the stock compression ratio or should I leave that and get it only resurfaced? My goal HP is somewhere 250-270HP,so I wonder how much power increase could be achieved by shaving some material off the head alone.I'd like to keep my stock pistons and change only the rings and bearings, seals, etc and get the adjustable cam gear and possibly modify the exhaust system to 3'' one. Possible? |

Bah, this is turbobricks leave it alone toss a bunch of boost at it and have a 93+ B230 junkyard block waiting when you blow this one up. Build the junkyard block while you try to destroy the 260k block with too much boost.
Go with a stg.3 RSI cam Do a 3" Downpips and a 3" cat, stock back section isn't all that restrictive. Don't waste time/materials on less than 3" Port your 90+ exhaust manifold, or get a header Install a wideband O2 Get some LH2.4 chips NPR intercooler (you've got the pre 92 top hose intercooler so it's close to drop in) Larger injectors 19T turbo or T3/T4 Tune it Should put you close to your goal.
