i don't really have a proper project thread for this car and i have done a lot since i got it. hell, this is the $500 740 turbo that started it all for me and this site.

lets recap for the 8 valve:

-blew up 5 m46 transmissions
-broke 2 subframes
-broke many, many pistons
-ran a 13.7 1/4 mile earlier this year on the factory 8v
-swapped to ford t5 wc trans

here's the current setup:

B230FD +16v +T

-1994 B230FD block bored .020" over
-16v forged 9:1CR 96.5mm pistons
-forged H-beam rods
-modified b234 intake
-adapter plate w/ ported 90+ manifold
-WC ford t5 v8 transmission
-kaplhenke shifter box
-clutchnet 4 puck sprung hub
-clutchnet pressure plate
-volvo 0.63a/r t3 hotside
-international 0.60a/r t04e coldside (avatar)
-turboxs RFL bov
-MS1 setup for MSnS-E
-100 lb/hr delphi injectors
-cosmoracing AFPR @3.0bar
-12x24x3 ebay intercooler
-3" mikepipe w/ side exit
-g80 4.10 locker

there's probably more that i missed and i can add later. as soon as i get my 16v header from RSI, i've got a garrett GT35RS optioned by Precision turbo to fit on there.

Matt, your 744 is looking great! It's going to be one heck of a sleeper. Kudos.

This engine has been all over the board and im not sure if I said it yet but KICK A$$ .You a linuxman have litteraly in the past month blown the fekin doors off one of the most dreamt about mods for noobs and vets alike.

yo i cant wait to hear 16v w/ gt35, let alone just the 16v

you really do good, clean work man. i alwasy thought that

A+++++++++

you, sir, make me think i should've never got into 850s!
awesome (and like already was mentioned: very clean) work!

posting this here to document progress:

i got a decent base tune on it but when i took it out just to see how it would accelerate i found out tires don't stick where they used to so i didn't even make it to the speed limit. so far wayyyyyyyyyy more power is available on tap and off-boost power is better. everything is much more linear and now that the head gasket is behaving i will proceed to raise the boost and tune more.

as you can see it gets really squirrely now even at part throttle

head gasket blew again, not sure why it keeps happening, i only raised the boost from 15 to 19, it was pulling great and then the gasket popped again.

what do you all run for a head gasket? i think an elring should be up to the task and the stock headbolts should be as well.

Copper sprayed elring should be good to 400hp. Even unsprayed it should be fine. Both gasket surfaces check out as flat?
