Hey there. Name is Stephen, I live in Seattle, and I have a Volvo problem.

I come from a background of drifting, one car was the OTHER 240, and the other was a GC8 Impreza that I converted to RWD, which I am currently parting out... (wink wink)

A little over a year ago I bought my first Volvo. I paid way too much for it, but the rust is minimal, the paint is good, and the color is just what the doctor ordered to put a smile on mine and others faces when I drive it.

I have been living quietly in the shadows picking up as much as I can via the 'search' button, but have decided I would like to become more active on the forums.

The goal is to make the car not squeek, not leak, turn on rails, stop on dimes and to keep up with traffic. All easy tasks, just a matter of time and money. Unlike my past project cars, I have no aspirations of building a track/stanced-out/show car... just something I can incrementally build, camp in, and love driving.

Looking forward to learning from and contributing to (probably a ways out) the body of knowledge present on this site!

Welcome! Lots of Wa members here. Always loved that minty green color, not as much as teh beige, but a strong 2nd. It’s definitely worth paying a little more for an old 240 and that little to no body work and they getting harder to find. Smart move! You’ll have to get a project and restorations thread going as soon as you feel like you have some thing to post. I like the direction you’re headed, can’t wait to see this one progress.

Thank you for the welcome!

Be sure to post progress as soon as there is something to report other than another leaking valve cover gasket

So far, just Kaplhenke trailing arm bushings.

Then you're prepared for the inevitable "Paint the center caps gold, put it on blocks for 6 months, then crush it". Good, good. Don't want any surprises.
