ZF 5 Speed

I can get my hands on a ZF 5 speed transmission from a 2001 BMW 330i if it will fit in a 244 with out putting down alot of money.
Are there any adapter kits to make this happen or any that need a little tweaking to make it work or is it a complete waste?
 
I'll assume the bellhousing isn't removable and you'll have to chop it off and weld on the correct one.
 
I have a 5spd zf in my 242, from a e36 328i, its great exept for 1:1 ratio in 5th....
