960 Removing the chrome trim strip on front bumper

Does anyone know how to remove the chrome trim strip on the front bumper of a 95 960? I?ve tried pulling it out with a pick and some pliers and all I?m doing is gouging it up. I?ve got a new peice to install, and it looks like it just kind of snaps into the recess in the bumper, but the old one that?s in there now is either really stuck or I?m doing something wrong. Has anyone removed this peice before?

Use a heat gun to warm it up, then just peel it off.
