Hey guys I just picked up a '93 240 wagon. PO had started some work on the engine. He pulled the fan, shroud, radiator, and water pump. I have the water pump, new timing belt, new radiator hoses, new crankshaft bearing, and thermostat. I found this lying in the pile of parts. So pardon my ignorance but what is it and where does it go? I am also replacing the red coolant pipe that runs from the water pump to the heating core(?) since mine is pretty corroded at the water pump junction. Anything else I should hit while things are opened up?
Thanks

Intake preheat pipe, mounts on exhaust manifold.

Worth about $0.25 scrap price (probably less) unless you live somewhere far north.

That is the heat shield that bolts to the exhaust manifold. The pre-heat tube to the air cleaner box attaches to the round tube section of that shield.
