connecticut snowcross 2/16

Hey Jason, You get some tires? I couldn't make it last time, I was in Salt lake city, anyway I'll be there sunday, may or may not run the old girl. see ya. Greg

just bringin this up to the top. c-mon guys you can still be home in time for the superbowl :D 8) It'll be the warmest day we've had here in weeks

well greg(blackbrick) and i represented. about 40 cars, lots of wrx's a sentra rally car, and an escort rally car. course was much bigger this time, and included a completely unplowed/grass/ice section. greg proved that his car definitely doesn't have a rev limiter! they're planning on doing another one in two weeks. check the website. it's a blast!

i used a set of all seasons on the back which were an improvement. the course this time included a completely snow covered section which also added about 45 seconds of run time. a fiero gt got lightly stuck but a corner worker pushed him out. there was a lunch truck there this time and a photographer who was shooting cars for only 20 bucks. hope you can make the next one greg..

you guys aren't going to want to miss this one. snow today and friday(?). i'm raising my ride height and i just scored a pair of snows for free!

Any of you guys have any tips on racing in the snow.

Early apex? I've never raced on snow, but I think you want to use as much of the course as you can to keep your speed up, since braking & accelerating is difficult. I'd aim the nose at the cone and rotate around it.

You northern guys have all the fun! I hope it snows for my rallycross this weekend.

You don't want to come to a stop, that's for damn sure! You don't want to get too tail happy either, I think you just want to keep it smooth and try and keep your car moving, keep your momentum!

If a part of the course starts showing a lot of ice and deep hard ruts, then try to steer around it, whether that means taking a corner wider or whatever.

Greg

Lack of snow? Wow, how did that happen? Did you not get the 12" of snow that we got in Boston last Friday? And isn't there supposed to be snow this Saturday, as well? Oh well, now my whole weekend will be free! :)
