And here was the new page

30.12.2011

The car is up in the rotation device again
After I saw a 242 on the norwegian volvo forum who had alot of rust under the side window I got scared and pulled mine out. It looked very good! But maybe to you guys in USA this is quite normal:p

Here I had done a mistake so i cutted the end and made the right angel on it

Here I was going to make i plate that fitted over and weld it all..

But I decided to do different..Cutted away a bit more and grinded

Putted some welding spray everywhere the plate was going to cover eachother and made a new peace

Made the peace for the rear fender

And put in on the car and cutted out for it..ALso cutted out a little more for the sparewheels house..But Ican not put in the new parts before I have the new peace that should go under the talelight

So I started on the other side..At first it was like this

And then it was like this

Tryed to take a better picture of finish wheelhousing(exept grinding)

Then I continued on the other side making it ready for work..straitened this edge out

Took the reinforcement away

Took away the old **** from inside the rear fender

Started putting in the sparewheel house..Finally it starts to look like a car again on this side

Here it will be fittedf well togheter, I have a plan

Here you can see roughfly how much I need to widen this

Started with this + one nut more

After some work with the grinder and lathe

The extra welding is because of a little misunderstanding:p

And finishThe treads are not normal but inches and not 2,5 but 1,5 in the "niceness" of the threads

Started on the peace under the taillight!Cutted it out from a partcar and removed the "plateonplate" part and welded it togheter..

Support so the fender wouldnt go in when i cutted out the old peace

The old ****..Dismembered it when I got it out and there was alot of rust under!

And in with the newAlso rebuild the edge under since it was ****ed!

Spotted this on place

Spotted on the rest of the pieces and widened the sparewheel house!

The new parts are from a company called Veng, not known for its nice fittings

And this is how it looked like when I went home

Did like this here..The small peace should have been togheter with the big peace, but how could I now where it all would end up..But I think it looks okey, espesally after welding and grindigYou will see

I want to put these on the 5 sylinder I'm going to put in the car!

Will cut of the first and make a new place for the tps sensor..

Got a polish guy at work to do this for me, I'm not so steady on tolerances in the lathe..The new is in black steel and not stainless since I'll be making a black steel header eventually

Some pictures of the car when I took it back to the workshop!

Out with the front window and some more parts

Will be blasted here

Rear window and some more parts there

Under the rear window it looked good!

Started on the "plates" inside the car..**** work!

Almost finish with the car, but I need to make the last finsih here

Planning to make a new one in aluminium, will make the connections in the lathe some day I have time

dont use a course sanding disk for getting the paint off! it takes off too much good material, just use paint stripper of 60 grit sandpaper and do it by hand or eccentric sander
