20.06.2012

Started on some s38 throttle body i want to use on the new intake manifold




Did not fit so good


Cutted a little bit more, no it looks betterMust be able to fix something with this

Used my lunch at work to drill the engine mountsWelded two and two peaces togheter when i drilled


Nice package in the mail! Turbopressure gauge, oilfilter adapter, 7/940 engine pillows

The rubber engine mounts?They are reinforced also, kosts about 25 dollars

Looks good! For the lower bolts I just ended up using some M12x30mm bolts on either side. I ditched the through bolt idea so I wouldn't have to clearance the control arms.
I'm going to go measure that engine mount for you right now!

Started splitting the rim



Put on the paint stripper, before I could find my cellphone it had started working


10 minutes after


Starting to look like something


And almost finished

Started taking apart the doors



Everything out, exepct the windows


Windows gone also



On the left door both these weldings were cracked, somebody closed the door to hard a couple of times!I suspect a female driver!!!!

Picked up some parts at Volvo!


From now on the updates will come as I workThe car will be moved to the workshop the next wekend and continued on some bodywork!New pics then

Tested a turbo from 940 on the manifold..Will maybe use this in the beginning, will see



A friend fixed me an intake manifold!:D Waiting for it in the mail



And spent some time with autocad after work one day

Intake manifoldWill remove the nozzles on the runners(the car have been driven on gas)


And I need a new gasket, didnt know it was a different flange on the new intake manifold..


Took the car to the temporary "workshop"


Soon to be best friends!


Cutted a little bit here..Will not use the trimmings here anyway


Grindend away old broken welding and welded againAll the way through the corner



Welded some holes in the engine compartment



Been crashed here aparently:(Not decided if I will cut it away and replace it..



Welden holes in the front fender


The old weldings on the doors fixed



Welded holes in the door also


Fixed the problem here


And took this away, will replace it with black hoses or alu pipes

Spotted it togheter again, cutted away little bit more because of rust



The other fender fixed



Also the other door


Crack in this door also:p But not on the welding itself


Spotted on a new peace, but big gap to fill:(


Finished welding and grinding



Some temporary paint



And started here again, can finish no that I know what I will do in the back..

Nice work.

On the cracks on the doors. I think that those are more due to people closing the doors by pushing on the large, mostly unsupported window frame, instead of the door itself. Had to fix a couple like that on my 242 as well.

Hmm, that sounds very likelyI tought it was beacuse of somebody smashing the doors shut to hard many times, but your thought is goodAs you say, the window frame is not so stabile on the 242 doors--Maby a combination of the two also?

Throttle from 960, its 2,5 inches..The original 850 I was planning to use are only just over 2"


Washed the parts a little bit, need stronger things on the "wheel"


Do not fit


Drawing for adapter plate!

Cutted in 25mm aluminuA bit rough surface, but that will be fixed


Will be like this..Will weld the adapter plate to the intake manifold


Finished drawing for the exhaust flange


And cutted it outWill redrill the holes with 9,5mm cutted them in 8mm..
