Tell me !!)) which gearbox is better to put?
I was advised to garaget.ogg here this
http://bakaxel.se/vaxellador/530-6-vxl-volvo-rod.html

but I have a problem in the delivery and the price too high!
I wrote a letter to the store and told me that it's a box of BMW

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=23_0926

we have such a box (second-hand) costs $ 300

I want to remake itself (stomach dome) and save $ 900

good this transmission?
or better than the other?

Think a standard Getrag 260 won't hold the power?

They're sturdy, you know.

And a dime a dozen... (cheap)

Terrific build.

If 5spd is ok, then go for E39 diesel trans, they are cheap and sturdy, just have to machine the bellhousing like they did with the link.

Keep us updated!

Getrag 260 family follows same rules that govern all conventional gearboxes in terms of what makes it strong..

Yes Volvo, and Ford in their Turbo Group a touring cars used the 265 and their engines made mountains of torque compared to the limp weenie little BMW and Rover touring cars which dod not make much torque at all..
But that box they used was same CASE -housing- gehause and completely different gear ratios.

Just like you will see on the T5 ID charts that show max torque, the taller the 1st gear ratio the higher the torque capacity of the box.. thus the 4.08 first T5s have the lowest max torque, and the 2,95 first gear boxes have the highest torque capacity...It is largely a function--in a given box--of the gear reduction from clutch input shaft down the bottom/cluster gear..

Also! The 4.2 or whatever horrible 1st gear 265 is, aside from the utterly useless 1gang ratio, nowhere near as strong as those old GpA boxes with 2,37 for 1 gang..

Hi))
Bought at dump trucks Getrag 260/6 of the BMW 734 (he is stronger than 260/5)
It cost me $ 80 $
I gave to the plant to alter the gearbox housing!
all cook evenly and exactly what they needed in the engine block B230
(Also bought at the dump old cars for $ 20)
* They said that next week will begin to remodel!))
Approx 9000 engine rpm

GETRAG 260
1st gear 87.96 km / h
2nd gear 153.13 km / h
3rd gear 240.64 km / h
Fourth gear 336.89 km / h
5th Gear 415.92 km / h

and the figures at 4500 rpm (where the turbine has already started to blow air)
The first transmission of 45.82 km / h
Second gear 75,6 km / h
Third gear 118.81 km / h
Fourth gear 166.33 km / h
5th Gear 205.34 km / h

These figures are calculated on the condition that the rear gear number 3.2

It's so funny that the guy at the start says "so we hit crysis and I decided to build a street car" and then orders all of these expensive parts
That's cool man, following this. Going to be very powerful!

By the way, so you don't have to weld the bell, we (abc-clutch) offer adapter kits to bolt on BMW boxes on Volvo engines. Next time hit me up (:

P.S. - privet iz Latviji, udachi!
