First post here, Its my 81 242, Ive had it for few years now, found it with 32k on it sitting in someones garage in Raleigh NC for 20 years. Got it running and drove with k-jet for a year befor i built a 531 head and threw the boat carb intake and points on it. Now im building MS-2 for it and ready to go crazy, but its worth going broke to build this car.

ive seen other carbed motors with coolant running threw the manifold so i made this but it really doesnt help with runability, the single carb sucks and doesnt deliver nearly enough fuel, and the TB is smaller than a golf ball

Fixed for ya kid.

I was running coolant through the mani on my carbed motor but after a while it didn't seem to be a very good idea. I may need to change back in the winter though for the warm-up(no choke what-so-ever on the Solex's).

BTW, I dig the copper lines. Looks kinda steam-punk.

Also, what did you do for brake vacuum? Drill and tap the mani or go to a vac pump?
How is your throttle cable set up?
I need more pics!

the manifold was tapped for the brake booster and the throttle linkage is a bike brake cable with the factory bracket from the boat. Im on to MS now though having a hell of a time getting a crank signal from my lh2.2 dist

That 'steam punk' look is definitely cool (and prob completely unintentional). Good idea, but probably can't get enough heat to transfer through the copper and then the aluminum intake.

That is a VERY clean car...almost a shame to defile her.
