AW71 problems: 2nd gear start and free-wheeling

Hi,

What's the cause when an AW71 sometimes starts off in second gear, and always free-wheels when letting go of the throttle (no engine braking)?

I should say also that when it gets hot, it slips when taking off. Not when cold however

I recently serviced it (new filter and fluid), made no difference
