is there any website that sells the parts to make a "custom (weld yourself)" exhaust manifold for 8v b230ft?

RSI/Yoshi fab for head and turbo flanges, if stainless look online and buy elbows / pipe, if steel, head to the local plumbing outfit and buy weld els and mild steel pipe. Place the collector and have fun!

whats the most common diameter or whatever people run? mild steel would be stronger right?

Toss up on strength. Common is steel sched 40 or stainless sched 10. Material is not really the issue, its the weldment, I run 1-1/2 pipe for my headers, but have built 1-1/4 pipe headers too. Need to look at your application and decide what might be best size wise. 1-1/2 will be good for power out the top, 1-1/4 will be good for quick spool and moderate power levels.
