Default 1992 740 stuck in park/ no brake lights

So I was recently given a 740 turbo wagon by a family member, and it's really great. I like the car a lot.

But something started happening the other night where it won't shift out of park. It was fine when I parked it, but when I tried to turn it back on later that night, the button on the shifter won't go down, and the brake lights won't come on either.

I did a little bit of research and found that it could be the brake pedal position sensor, but I only found that based on symptoms of newer Volvo's (v70, s60) and can't find anything about that sensor existing on 740s.

Then, I thought it could be the brake light sensor that's right above the pedal assembly, but doing research on that, I only found people with symptoms of the brake lights not working, and not being unable to shift out of park.

I'm at a bit of a loss in terms of what it could be now. I can still shift with the manual override lever under the shifter brush.

Anybody have any ideas?
