![]() I want to install a new crankcase breather hose from the PCV Y-Junction as the current one's seen better days.
Will it matter if I just grab some generic hose of the right diameter that lacks the bend coming out of the airbox or should I just suck it up and buy the MacKay/OEM Volvo hose?

![]() I just ran a rubber hose all the way from the breather box to the compressor intake elbow. IIRC, it was a pretty snug fit so it may not come off easily in the future. The hose routing is a little sloppier than the formed factory hoses. (On my '85 B21FT, the little nipple on the original Y was blocked off and there was no flame trap screen, but apparently that was the way Volvo did it.)

![]() Just be sure the generic hose is oil/emissions rated. Otherwise it will melt the rubber and turn to gook.
