Default 1979 242 refrigerant capacity

I'm recharging my 1979 242 A/C system and can't find the refrigerant capacity. The charts I've been able to locate only go back to 1985 and they say 46 oz of R12 and 10 oz of mineral oil. Would appreciate info on the '79 capacities. It is a factory a/c system.
Thanks
Jim

The greenbook says 2.9 lbs. of R12 which is 46.4 oz. and 300cm³ (.64 US pint or 10.24 oz.) of oil although it says the compressor should come filled with the proper amount and to make a dipstick to check it.

This car had some 134 put into somewhere along the line. We have done a pressure check and it is perfect. Question is: How do I flush all the old 134 that might still be lurking in the system, including the compressor, out of the system? Thanks

How to flush AC compressor

Use AC flush in all of the lines to clear them out. Can't really flush past the TXC afaik. Replace R/D.

If you stop and think about it, it’s literally not worth your time to get on TBOT every day and argue about politics.
