How much boost did you end up running and do you know what it is getting mpg wise?

Has anyone tried running yeller-tops with Regina?

Interesting to read in one of the Volvo Pocket Data booklets that the Regina in-tank pump output (pressure/volume) is right on par with the Bosch turbo get-up.

mpg is poopy, like 18mpg avg, 22 hwy. you can't have your cake and eat it too though.

it runs 7psi boost. the first turbo i used ended up being junk, i swapped another 13c on there but wastegate arm was not adjustable, didn't care to mess with it, just left it at stock boost.

it's been reliable and still scoots around like a stock turbo car.

Well written thread though.

So much easier to turbo than a Regina car.

But the story behind it would be better. "I +T 'd the 940 wagon" no "I +T'd my Regina 940".

Story schmory.

I +B234F'd my Regina 740 wagon..... I'd much rather have +B234F'd a Bosch 740.

I installed a apexi VAFC and was able to run 440cc injector and running 15psi on a 70 trim turbo.

I've seen you mention this before on the forum. Have you done a write up on yours? I don't think I'm planning to "do it", just curious what signals you used, and how you send them back into the ECU.

Cheers!

The VAFC acts like a voltage clamp that doesn't let the ecu read any boost because it runs an a MAP sensor and it the ecu read any kind of boost it will wig out, and it also has two tunable maps.

How much does the ecu rely on TPS vs MAP for injector pulse width? Because if it's just basing the fuel on the MAP signal, it seems ike rigging a hobbs switch to turn on the cold start once you hit boost would be the way to go.

Regina is all MAP. The TPS is almost identical to the Bosch LH switch: closed, open, WOT.

yeah, it's not really a TPS, it's just a couple of micro switches in a TPS housing.

Even though the Regina TPS is a different part, I think the fit and pin-out is identical to the Bosch.

So then why not just leave the FPR alone, Regina should be just fine with anything off boost regardless of throttle position then, and rig up a hobbs switch or two for fuel under boost via cold start injector(s)
I realize it'd be an ugly way to do it, but it should work, especially at low boost levels...

Or am I missing something?

Arise thread. Arise.

Could a proper MAP sensor be installed with a tune? From my under standing the MAP calibrates to 0 on start as a 5v signal. So the sensor it self will max out at 0 vacuum. Just a thought on an old thread.

Regina was used as early as 89 and went up to 94 on 940s. I've never seen a 95 regina but I bet there were some.

I have been collecting parts for a while now and will be doing a Regina + T over the week of the 4th of July. I have multiple options I will be examining (larger injectors/FPR/cold start injector/piggyback) and I will be testing all and seeing what works best. I even have some GM maps sensors I will be trying out. Big thread coming soon

I still have this Regina dog dish flywheel if you go for a manual swap. Already resurfaced, never saw a clutch disc in its life!
