Turbobricks Fund Drive! 2019 (Completed!)

Back in 2017 we did our second big fund raiser and really did a great job of pulling in a lot of new members to the 'contributor' group. We also received a lot of support from our existing contributors as well and far surpassed our goal.

Since our last drive we have made some significant back-end changes to set us up for being able to roll out the next rendition of Turbobricks as well as clear up some problems we were having. After many years (over a decade in fact) we decided to leave our hosting company that although had treated us well, was unable to provide us the server capabilities we required at a price we could justify. Our new hosting company was able to set us up with a custom dedicated server that was superior at nearly half the cost! The move gave us the opportunity to upgrade some of the server software which allowed us to make some changes to the board itself to help things run quite a bit more smoothly as well.

Over the last few months I've been covering the hosting until I had a better idea of what we were going to be doing for future changes and funding. However I was recently offered an incredible deal as one of the new companies top clients and pre-paid our hosting out of pocket. As you know, we remain user funded by contributions rather than advertisement or sponsorship. I would like to raise $2000 by the end of the month to cover our expenses for the next 3 years!

I know that sounds like a lot to come up with but i'm confident we can do this together and keep our grassroots community self sufficient. So many of us are passionate about our online family and are willing to chip in whatever is necessary, I'm hoping we can encourage many new contributors to donate this round as well. Here are some updated 2019 stats for you:

If everyone who has over 1,000 posts chipped in $10 we would have: $8,930
If everyone over 10,000 posts doubled down and chipped in $20 we would have an additional: $2,012
If everyone over 100 posts thats currently not a contributor gave just $5 we would have $5,525 more!
