Well my truck can't get inspected because of the holes in the wheel wells.
So I figured, why don't I get that wagon on the road that's been sitting next to my shop for a couple months? And so I pulled an ignition tuneup off my blue 240, slapped it on, sea foamed it, replaced the entire brake system, and fixed some electrical gremlins, now it runs mint!
But it didn't quite cut it, I could only fit like 3 mowers in the back of it, and it was a bear trying to fold down the handles, jimmy them around, surely there must be a better way! So I came up with a plan, and surely it would be much more time efficient than playing with a gallon of Bondo and half a dozen grinding wheels, if I hadn't already broken that threshold.
So I switched the hitch receiver from my blue 240 to the wagon, wired up the trailer light harness, and went up to the steel place to buy 4' of 2" square stock, and 20' of 2" angle iron. I had them cut it in half, strapped it to the roof, and the rest is history.
But I'm not sure what to call it...
A cargo rack?
A Trailer?
A Traktor?
This thing is sturdy, and Husqvarna orange!
Securely clamped to the aluminum bumper, it will mar up the paint but no drilling is required. Will probably fit most 240s.
10' of cargo space! The stakes are made of pallets, and fully removable with plugs on the tail light wires.
So far so good, it only gives a slight gangsta lean to the car's stance, but I was thinking about maybe installing those airbags that go inside the springs to compensate for ride height sometime down the line.
I look forward to overloading the hitch and possibly bottoming out in the near future
P.S. Please let me know if the crappy google photo's don't appear for yous.
