940 1991 940 ABS fault

Hi,

I have a 1991 940 without ABS diagnostics. The ABS lamp is on always.

1992- the diagnostics box will flash LED codes. -1992 does not .

Any idea how to diagnose the fault?

The Bently manual has a nice diagnostic section for that. A bunch of tests you can do with a multimeter and other basic stuff.
 
Do the front brakes act like a jack hammer? I read that dirty front sensors or dirty front tone rings can cause this. Also there's a fuse under the drivers side (LHD) for the ABS. No power to the ABS control unit and the light will be on, but the ABS does not function.
