I have the overhaul specs for an aq151c penta engine, but I want to build a 16 valve, boosted stroker automotive engine.

Do you recommend i use these overhaul specs?

For what sort of specs? Bearing clearances, and play and other specs yes. But Not for like, stroke, rod length, piston comp height etc etc. Is that what you meant?

yeah. the engine i want to build is not the aq151c. so not all these specs will apply (e.g., valves). my question is about the difference in tolerances between overhaul engine specs and performance building specs (if any).

for example, Bore: 96.00-96.03

are these good enough for high performance engines or should they be tighter? 96.00-96.02

Bore diameter depends on the pistons you have and the intended use.

You can also change the ring end-gap depending on use.
