I have another problem with the new 240.
Its a Aus 83, auto kjet. Has egr.
Okay here's the story, I replaced the timing belt and the distrib pulley was off the mark one tooth so I set it right and put the new belt on. Of course it ran like **** so I reset the timing to ~10 deg BTDC, before I set it again it was right on TDC.
SO now when I turn the car on it runs good but the idle rises by like 100-200 rpm then I hear a click in the engine bay near what sounds like the intake manifold and the revs drop to normal and it shuts off. I tried adjusting the idle but it just shuts off whatever I set it to. It sounds like a relay click. Its not the fuel pump relay though.. its so weird. Is it the idle valve? Or the egr? Or some other relay? I haven't encountered this before. I am going to go out tomorrow and buy new vacuum hoses rip it all out and replace them, and put in a new flame trap and clean the egr. I know its probably pretty obvious but I have no knowledge on this kind of thing, help is greatly appreciated on this, I need to get it registered and outta the garage because I'm moving soon!
Thanks!
