Default 740 turbo overboosting with 2.5" Sidepipe

I have a 1991 Volvo 740 Turbo Wagon. I have a boost gauge wired up and before installing the 2.5" exhaust with a flow fx muffler from the downpipe, I was running the factory 6-7 psi. Now I'm making about 11 psi and am fuel cutting under hard acceleration. I was expecting to make a few more psi but was not expecting this. Any tips would be helpful as I'm pretty new to this stuff.

Thanks

It's not fuel cut at 11 psi.

It's probably a soggy intake hose sucking shut

Do you have a gauge? With a short exhaust like that it is pretty common to get massive boost creep. You may need to port your wastegate. Had this happen on mine years ago with a 13C on my 740. Hit 30 psi boost...
