I think you should primer it with white or black primer and let your kids go to town on it.

Thinking about painting the hood in chalk board paint and letting people sign it at ipd, take a picture for memories and then get rid of it when I paint the car.

I mentioned a project I started and I ended up finishing it right before the ipd meet. Ended up better than I imagined.

Everyone with GTA wheels can appreciate this ghettofabbed update. I have been wanting to add center caps for a while. The problem is the stock caps are longer than my wiener (I know) so I had to find something that has the same sized center bore. Nothing exists. The closest I found was a KIA minivan looking thing. Iirc it's a Sorento. I grabbed the only one I could find from the local junk yard and test fit it when I got home. Perfect fit with just a tad bit of an overlap which I did. It mind. I set out to find three more.

Here you can see the caps that I ordered from eBay for $20 full set:

Popped out the plastic KIA logo and realized it was domed shaped

This sucked because I could not place a decal on the convex surface. I ended up cutting out the backs:

I used that same plastic from the sheet rock tray and made some backing:

Once it fit right I epoxied the back:

I went to this decal maker on base who made the stickers for me. Just stuck em in and then started the epoxy stage:

Mixed and poured. There were tons of bubbles but I red online somewhere that using a straw can make them float to the surface:

Totally worked! Here is the finished cap:

They came out pretty good. I'm excited. Another ghettofab product!

Hope you guys find this fun and informational. Until next time...

Hell yea dude, amazing work as usual! Glad to have met you, your car is an incredible inspiration, thanks for coming down!

Love the epoxy touch, I used the same stuff to make a bartop at our shop, pretty cool stuff. Make sure whatever surface you're working on is level though!

Thanks everyone. I miss my homies in FL but not so much the state itself!

Ive been playing around with some stuff here. I may end up building my own 4link set up.. I will post what I come up with and get opinions since I really am not too sure the ins and outs of it.

If you have built/installed etc your own watts link, post up some photos. I know Chris has shown me his. Looking for more inspiration and ideas.

How did you make your tail lights completely red? (Sorry if this is old news.)

Bought some tail light paint from the auto store. Wasn't sure if I would like it but it's growing on me.

Going to build a watts link set up. Need to center my axle. Tired of it shifting side to side when I air up and down.

"Consider reworking the panhard mount on the chassis and make a new pick up point on the axle that ties in to your coilovers so the panhard rod can be made long and straight. Stock-car panhard rods are cheap and come in lots of lengths (1/2" increments). The longer the panhard rod, the less side to side deflection. Take a look at the panhard on a late '80s Camaro. It's probably 6-8" longer than a volvo one because it's almost touching the wheels. That might be less work than a watts link and might be a lot cheaper."

But he's running bags and something like 5" from low to ride height. I like the watts link idea.
