virgo rims tire size

too wide?
naw .... I've run 215-50's and 205-50's and although the 215 looked and fit fine I'd go for the 205-50's to keep the sidewall as low as possible

DEPENDS on the tire, but 205 is the widest section width I would ever put on a Virgo wheel, assuming it's a street tire.

I've used a 205/55/15 Bridgestone RE71 tire that was so wide I [could never] curb the wheels because of how much the sidewall was bulging over the lip. They were a wide 205. (Same tire in 225/50 looks identical on a 15x7 wheel)

I'm currently using 205/50/15 Kumho ECSTA 712 tires, and they are much shorter than stock and will look odd on cars that aren't lowered. The sidewall is nearly vertical over the lip of the wheel, but when I put the wheel face down, the rim never touches. This is nearly perfect in my view.

205/55/15s are what I have on my car...Never had any rubbing, they came that size when I bought the car.

Yikes - no one has asked him yet on whether this is going on a sedan or wagon? (I'm already presuming it's a normally aspirated - otherwise he'd have Virgo's already).

Sedans used a stock size of 185/70/14. Optional is 195/60/15, with 205/55/15 being acceptable too.
Wagons used a metric 185/14 - about 25.6" diameter. Go with 205/65/15 - 25.5" diameter.

i have 205/60-15 yoko S4's on my virgos.. really big balloon like tires that create a LOT of roll. Im going to use 205/55-15's on them next

I run Bridgestone Potenza RE930I on Virgos., 205/60/15. Works quite well. No rubbing.
Ditto. Ran 2 sets of 930i's and currently have 950's in 205/60/15's. No tire issues at all, and not worry about rim damage.

Resurrecting an old thread here, but would folks still recommend a 205/55-15 on Virgos for my 92 240 Wagon that I plan on eventually lowering with Kilen springs.

I would. I thought the 205/55-15's felt a little more solid on the road than the 60-series tyres I've tried ... yet without feeling too firm. I borrowed a set of Virgos with 215/60-15's fitted & they were way too baggy feeling.

i only ever ran 195/60 R15.
everytrhing else didnt have a nice straight sidewall

DITTO that...

Plus, your car handles much better with 195 on 6.0J wide rims, less flexing of the tires while cornering...

And the pressure is correctly spread to the ground, this will create less drag compared to oversize tires.
