Good morning, afternoon, evening (depending where your from)

Got some questions but before I fire away I?ve tried to looking around but.. didn?t seem to bring up much ( am not very good with computers)

Is there a thread or build log here for a 1997 940 swap in to a 1990 240 estate. I live in the U.K. so it?s right hand drive..

Nothing laid out but what is you want to know? You wont be able to use the ecu from 97 940 unless you get it chipped with an aftermarket chip. The ecu has an immobilizer function. If you have an m90, you will need to modify the linkage so that it works in your 240. Some modifcation needed for gearbox cross member as well.

Thanks for your reply.

One of the questions was about the ecu! Can you send them
Off to be chipped?

Next was the gear box. Does the cross member from the 940 fit with a little messing around?

Also the dizzy, see people have used blanking plates and used the dizzy and rotor from the 240 engine. Trying to find out if any one sells the blanking plates

ECU's the fuel ECU is just plug in for the Chip, Spark ECU you need to solder in the daughterboard https://www.classicswede.co.uk/EZK_Daughterboard/p1733344_17042139.aspx
I can solder them in for you

Gearbox no need to do anything with the 940 support beam, use the 240 one and this https://www.classicswede.co.uk/M90_gearbox_to_M47_support_beam/p1733344_17476331.aspx

The dizzy you need to use the 240 dizzy and aux shaft. Blanking plug https://www.classicswede.co.uk/Cylinder_head_blanking_plug_B200___B230/p1733344_19233435.aspx

You also need one of these for the cam seal plug. Not necessary but good insurance. Maybe classicswede has these available as well. Use the auxillary shaft and distributor from the 240 engine

Next question

I?ll send you mine next week. If you could solder that in.

Is the m90 cable clutch?

explaining why you're doing this might also help. It'll give a more precise answer, or we could make suggestions as to what you're looking at.

For the ECU, you could just swap the engine, and keep all the old electronics with the new engine, and theoretically have no issues there.... but we don't know why you're doing it?

While you're getting chips installed, you might want to fit the Buchka wasted spark board as well. It's a worthwhile improvement on it's own but also means you won't need a distributor.

Hi, I probably should of said from the start.
Picked up a 940 last week and since I own a 240 2L non turbo (it?s tad slow)I am aiming for little more get up and go.

Plan is to swap what I can over and at the end with some go faster goodies 300hp is the aim.
So far my list of stuff to get is

Bigger turbo
Custom header pipes
3 inch turbo back
Bigger injectors
Chip ecu
Inter cooler
Waste gate
Bov vavle
Good hosing for rad and inter cooler
Fans
Any things else I my need
