Finally.

Finally I have a wagon.

Canuckvolvo originally imported this car from New Jersey in 2004. It spent the better part of a decade in Calgary before he moved to British Columbia. Then, in the last few days of July 2013, at 177,560 miles (284,096 kms) it became mine. Mine!

Since this is a 1995 car, it's got a few goodies that set it apart from previous 940s. '95-'98 940s saw little improvements all over the place, bringing them closer to the massive 960 facelift in 1995. These additions include the glass moonroof, power seats with memory, new door soundproofing, and ambiguous non-turbo badging. Also, they no longer have boost gauges. The only way to tell that it was a factory turbo car was to look under the hood. Weird marketing tactics to sell more 850s, apparently.

How it sits currently, more or less:

Came with E-codes and clear corners! Sold the corners and replaced them with the coloured ones though.

I've since tossed the clear tails and the iPd/TME Sweden turbo exhaust as well.

Heh.

I'm still unsure as to what wheels these are. They were manufactured by CSA of Australia, and are either called Diplomats or Stars (Momo Star replicas).

They are not Geminis.

I was told in '95 (last year the 940 was offered in US) that volvo was just trying to use up parts so a lot of the cars got funky dash(gauges)/emblems/wheel combinations.

Yup, so I heard as well. Apparently that was their way to upsell the 850 Turbo.

Here's the interior when I got it. Look at those fake wood trim decals! The little Lego Darth Vader I have to keep, by command of Canuckvolvo. It's still called Darth Wagon, though with the tinted windows, I've been told "Darth Hearse" is another possible name.

Emissions testing is brutal for older cars here, especially modified ones. Darth passed with no issues, thankfully. It was the its first time ever and likely the last time it will ever have to do it, as the program is being phased out soon.

Also found these winners in the glove box...

Very nice wagon, I like it

Those rims look very similar to a set of mine, same size too 15x6,5 ET18 or something. I

bought them used from a volvo dealer some years ago but they are not OEM. Not bad BTW

Thanks, all!

From the pic, it looks like it's ET22? There are a lot of markings on your wheel.

Overplayed lol...going to swap a 1990 740 eggcrate on to it, since all you Europeans do 940 front-end conversions on your 740s. #hipster

Thanks, all!

Ahahah I think you are on right! they are ET22 :-D

They are Canonica Big Star rims. AKA the fake Gemini

Very nice car BTW! and I agree with Rada, with some E-Code lights it would be perfect

It does have E-codes right now, just the non-fog ones. :)

Oddly enough, I probably have all the non-fog E-codes in Vancouver in my possession, if not all of BC. Pretty sure a few cars back East have these E-Codes too. :-P

What does this mean for your awesome sedan? You pretty much are the only reason I like that colour, and your sedan was a leader in making me like 7's.

Nice easy to read thread. Cool find, your going to love having a wagon around!
Thanks! I already love it and will never go back to a sedan. Unless I have to.

Selling it! Thanks for the support though!

I need a new tent, but in the meantime...

Heh.

The car was great, but it did bottom out a few times in the campground and then the rear main seal blew on the highway. Barely made it to the ferry home, then found a pool of oil under the car when we docked at the mainland.

Yikes.
