Default lh2.4 loose/spare connector?

been rewiring my '88 740t from lh2.2 to lh2.4, but I don't have a spare lh2.4 car to compare. Is it normal that this connector is just hanging around (under the intake) with lh2.4:

wires go to pin 9 and pin 33:

9: Power supply from main input 12
33: IAC valve Output 5-11 - Idling, no load

Not normal, as in stock, to be missing the idle control valve, but maybe someone needed it more urgently somewhere else.

Here's one way of looking at it.

The harness might have an extra connector or two depending on what market it came from.... so you might have an extra connector in the end. That said, it sounds like the extra one you have shouldn't be extra.

Well, I've plugged in all the connectors in the block, so it seems like a extra connector. FWIW it's a european car (the Netherlands)..

Look at #132 on Art's post; the IAC has a two pin connector.
