Question What parts do you keep in your car?

For example, you're going on a road trip. What parts and tools would you keep in the car for emergencies or common break downs?

Extra gallon of gas, most common tools, extra liter of oil and extra liter of coolant, fuel pump relay, spare tire and jack is always in there.
I also kept a emergency kit (canned nuts, mylar blanket thing, patches, water) for when I wasn't sure if I would be stuck somewhere.
A towel is also always in my trunk that I use after car wash visits. I used to keep more because I got stuck in a snow storm in VT (where I used to live), where I somehow managed to hit a peice of debri and bend my rim, and it was snowing so hard I couldn't jack up the car because the jack would just sink into the snow, I had to spend the night (thank god it had a full tank of gas) and shovel out the exaust every hour so the snow didn't make the fumes come into the car.
My friend keeps cash to pay the tow-man in case of emergency, but, I can't invision myself not spending it. lol

In the winter I always keep a small shovel, and for the jack a one foot square of 3/4 ply for jacking on snow or soft ground.

a spare tire that i've never used, usually a quart of oil and one of atf, and some simple tools.

No sense in carrying around a ton of spare parts when I have roadside assistance.

basic tools if I think about it, oil.

if you have to bring a spare car in the trunk you shouldn't be driving it any distance in the first place.

in the volvo: basic tools, fluids(just to keep it topped up), spare wire/fuses/etc, and some 5/8" rad hose and hoseclamps
for a while i had a spare coil/plug wires/cap/rotor - actually came in handy a few times - burnt through a plug wire and my cheap autozone cap lost a contact point

in hindsight i should have kept a spare alt - pretty much the only thing that left me stranded when i wasn't expecting it

All of my tools are in the trunk along with various bolts and electrical connectors. Also a voltmeter in the back seat and roadside assistance available on the phone.
